Punk Rock Flea Market

Truly Rocked!

By Anne Kirby

The 2nd Punk Rock Flea Market graced the Chameleon with it’s presence on Saturday, October 6th to the enjoyment of many punk rock thirsty attendee’s and despite the unseasonable October heat. With vendors from all over the area gathering to sell their wares, it was a fun filled afternoon roaming the legendary Chameleon and taking in all the sites.

The atmosphere of the market was one of excitement, creating an old world bazaar feel. Squeezing my way though the crowds, I scanned the eclectic offerings of clothing, jewelry, handmade items, and records. There was something there for everyone. Even my son Austin, who was anxious to burn a hole in his pocket, found a bargain and (may I add) haggled for Star Wars memorabilia, talking one vendor down from 6 bucks to 3 for a Star Wars trivia game. Ah…it makes a mother proud.

Among the vendors were fellow CHL members, Alicia owner of Ten Gallon Greetings and Daniel and Jackie who were there helping out a friend.

The Market is a greatly needed outlet for the vendors and patrons alike, and brings a bit more diversity to the downtown mix.

Check out www.myspace.com/lancasterprfm for updates and info about the next punk rock flea market, I know i'll be checking back, and so will my son.
