| THE INFANTREEBy Anne KirbyNew gallery is opening up this 1st Friday! This announcement got all of us very excited here at Subject2Change, so Krisha Martzall, Kelly Watson and I were sent out to check out what the latest addition to gallery row was all about. We found out that The Infantree is more than a gallery: it’s a collective of artists, and, in short, it’s amazing, fresh, exciting, colorful and did I say fresh! Owners Timothy Hoover and Jed Burkholder were kind enough to let us into their gallery even before the renovations were complete to get a first hand look at the incredible space that the Infantree calls home. It’s a little hike up to the 4th floor above the Prince Street Café, but it is definitely worth it. Not only will you be impressed by the space but the artwork will inspire you. This is the kind of gallery that 1st Friday is crying out for and all of us here at Subject2Change will be sure to add it to the top of our must see gallery list, as so should you. We can’t wait to sit down with these guys again to give you more info on what the Infantree is all about. We’ll be sure to update you in our next issue. So stay tuned! As stated on their website the infantree is "a group of young creatives. Artists and dreamers. We are inspired by the beauty and fragility of everything. We trust that there is power in the arts: to move mountains and to provide relief; to make uncomfortable the comfortable; and to tell the truth. We are organized in Lancaster, PA , but our hearts are all over the world. We are educated and we are free. We are risktakers but understand that manifestos are meaningless without hard work and sacrifice." The Infantree will be opening up to the public on October 5th around 6 pm featuring work this month from Stephen Procopio, Mipa Lee, and Tim Hoover. Check them out online at www.theinfantree.com Check them out this 1st Friday and be sure to let them know that that the CHL sent ya!
