ARIES: This month you need to use your imagination to solve problems—which you may say you already do, being the creative person you are—but this month it’s especially important to rely on your imagination when faced with a challenge. The results will be far better than if you try to apply logic. There is a great concern over what things look like and this includes those who work with faces. Photographers, portrait artists, anyone who uses faces in their work take heed. It may be that your creativity this month will have to do with faces—maybe supplying that new angle you’ve been looking for or as a way to break out of a creative slump—as this can be a very good challenge for you right now. When it comes to color, shades of blue could be very inspirational as well. Hey, maybe you can work them into your imagination-based problem solving in some way?

TAURUS: The idea of value comes into play this month for you, Taurus, and we’re not talking “family values” (although they’re always a good thing to have), but the value that all things have and recognizing it realistically. It’s important for you to be able to take care of yourself, and that includes a realization that it takes money to get through life and over the hurdles that may appear before you. Help is featured (and welcome!) and it may be that you’re being of great help to someone else—even as a means of earning more money for your own life. This energy is great for long-term projects where you will be required to really stick to it, so if you’re in the middle of something long-term, consider revamping your approach in terms of value and helping others (and yourself). If you’re embarking on something new, think about how these things can make everything run smoothly and increase your chances of success.

GEMINI: For you Gemini, it is time to get down and dirty—or so it will seem. This can be taken literally, if you’re involved in a medium that really requires you to dive in and immerse yourself, rolling up your sleeves and digging into the clay, the paint, the whatever it might be. “Down and dirty” can also mean that it’s time to face the fact that there can be many projects that require “clean up” and you figuring out how to make that happen. In your work, old things—antiques, artifacts, vintage items—can also bring great satisfaction for you this month. And nothing gets grime under your nails as fast as digging through cool stuff at a flea market or cleaning up an antique piece to integrate into your art. Another thing to think about this month is making a statement or figuring out what is being communicated to you or by you and deciding whether a project or a piece of work makes the statement you’d intended or hoped for.

CANCER: Lucky you, Cancer! Creativity is very high right now, and your work should be reflecting that. Another plus is that working in or around the home environment and working on pieces that can be more “healing” in nature can be very beneficial right now. Who doesn’t like to work at home and surround themselves with healing works of art? In your work, vibrant colors can be very helpful and even healing—so don’t confuse healing with passive or calm shades—it could be the most arresting colors that really grab you that end up healing you. As for that home-based creativity, it’s all about being grounded, because from a grounded place you can be even more creative.

LEO: Serving or doing for others right now might feel like work. Not that you should abandon your good works, but consider how they’re affecting your real work—your art— and maybe tweak your schedule a bit to lessen the load and free your muse. There are many deadlines and or restrictions that need to be met (don’t ignore them!) and this can feel very oppressive for the artist in you. Find ways to meet these requirements and to still make time for your creative self to emerge and get things done. The juggling act isn’t easy, but you can do it. With all these demands, it may seem hard to get inspired right now, but if you let your mind wander into uncharted territory, you may be surprised by what you learn and how much you can grow as an artist. Explore!

VIRGO: Get that jackhammer out, Virgo, because it may be that to be inspired for you this month, it will require a bit of destruction. Of course that’s a figurative jackhammer, Virgo, so don’t go crazy. “Destruction” can mean literally breaking something down, breaking something apart (to see its insides) or starting over. When it comes to your art work, Indian themes or the colors of India could be motivating—think spices and warm, bright shades. Not sure what this could mean? Grab some travel books or check out Indian travel sites online to get a sense of the colors and atmosphere. While the two concepts of destruction and Indian themes may not seem related, they can be pursued at the same time. The idea of doing things once, just to get things started, as well as the idea of tearing things down in order to rebuild will be among your themes for the next month.

LIBRA: In case you haven’t noticed (and you probably have), things are a little bit complicated for you this month. You’re caught in the complications or the layers that need to be worked with, and this can be affecting life in general, or maybe just your work. Regardless of the scope of this phenomenon, it makes it so things take longer until they are resolved or finished, and this can result in the feeling that some projects have been going on forever and you can’t see the finish line on the horizon. Will it ever end? Sure. And the bright spot is that there is a great deal of creativity in store for you, but you need to get organized in order to make good use of it. When it comes to your art, water or boat themes could work nicely for you right now, perhaps helping you sail over the finish line calmly and smoothly, ending that seemingly endless project sooner than later.

SCORPIO: Not to imply you don’t always do this, Scorpio, but the key during this time is to be intuitive with regard to what others might be looking for or what they need—in general, and from you. This means that it might not be clear from what people say or do, and you’ll have to be aware of and on the lookout for clues that trigger your intuitive sense of what’s really going on. Go with your gut in these situations, as your intuition is going to be telling you a lot more than the logical inputs are. In your work, designs can be very enlightening; window designs can be a way to manifest this energy, whether you’re literally designing a window or using a window in your work in some less literal sense. Overall, it will be your intuition that will surprisingly hit the mark this month, and this can bear fruit in many ways. Your art, and the art you witness around you, can have intensity, and that makes it all the more beautiful right now.

SAGITTARIUS: Whoa, there Sagittarius! Here’s some generally good advice that’s even more important this month: Be wary of going overboard. While sometimes it’s good to go a little crazy and think big, this is not the time to overdo it. This is a month when you can make some great changes for yourself, but just don’t get carried away—again, conservative is the best approach—or at least just be reasonable! In your work, building design (listen up, architects!), organizations or groups, and even families can be very inspiring. Also with regard to your artistic endeavors, Native American Art can hold a special interest to you and perhaps it can be something on which you will base a future project or goal.

CAPRICORN: Get out the Kleenex, Capricorn. This month, you might be more inspired than usual by sad themes or even by a certain kind of music. When it comes to what’s inspiring to your work, art that’s related to darker subject matters, such as death or dying, can be particularly captivating, as can images of Deities or Goddesses. You may notice them in other people’s work, in the world in general, and/or find them working their mystical way into your own work. The warning here would be for you not to let these sorrowful and darker inspirations get out of control, lest your entire being make the dreaded trip to the “Dark Side.” Seriously, be ready to be moved by sad and dark themes, but don’t let them do more than inspire your creative side. Keep things in perspective and look for brighter themes in other areas of your life so you can strike a balance.

AQUARIUS: This month, Aquarius, you’ll find that there are many turning points with regard to who you are. These turning points will surely be reflected in your art, and that’s a good thing – potentially enriching your work as well as helping you to navigate all the twists and turns that make up the journey that you’re on. When it comes to your work, children or things related to childhood and youth can be inspiring. Maybe unleashing the child in you can help with the turning points, too—so don’t ignore the impulse to take a more unspoiled perspective. Spiritual themes could come into play, too, but note this does not generally mean mainstream religion – spiritual themes in art generally mean that you’ll be using spiritual materials and imagery that evokes a sense of wonder. Imagination is running high right now. Don’t be afraid to use it and to trust it. Go with it, and put your faith in the directions in which it takes you.

PISCES: Busy, busy, Pisces. You’re busy making contacts and connections that will bring you and your work to the world. Networking, people who know the right people, events that could put you in or close to the spotlight – these are all on your menu this month, and if they’re not now, you’ll be seeking them out. When it comes to your work and your creative designs, it’s okay to seek advice from others, or to share your advice when asked. At the same time, however, you need to remember your boundaries—say “No” if someone’s demanding too much of you, or if the advice you get doesn’t ring true or feel right. To be a bit eccentric can be good for you now, but in the end, you’ll still be very logical with regard to your art and your inspiration.
